iTunes' 2008 Top Download List Unveiled

It's that time of the year when everyone announces their "Top" list. Top this, top that. Feeling left out, Apple has launched a special section of iTunes that lists the top iTunes downloads of 2008. This includes not only movies, TV shows and music, but also App Store purchases for the iPod Touch and iPhone.

The iPhone has drawn a lot a lot of attention from consumers --- and plaintiffs. The latest lawsuit to be filed against Apple's immensely popular device was filed on Monday by law firm Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro (JMBM) on the behalf of EMG Technology, LLC against Apple Inc. in the District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in the Tyler Division.

Yep, Apple released the 2.2 version of the iPhone software today, as expected, and it's big. And by big I don't mean just feature-wise, but size-wise. For comparison's sake, the 2.1 update was 237.8 MB; this one is 246.4 MB.

Wal-Mart is set to join Best Buy as yet another retailer selling the iPhone, outside of the obvious Apple and AT&T locations. According to a report by BGR, they have internal communications that indicate the retail giant will begin selling the iPhone 3G on December 28th.

Google's Mobile App for iPhone Gets Vocal at Last

After an interminable (not really, but it was sort of ridiculous how people reacted to the delay) wait, the Google Mobile App for iPhone with new voice recognition features showed up on the App Store. Strangely, at first it displayed the version number of the old version, though if you tried to download it, you would get the new version.
