The Austin Symphony has announced it will produce the first fun-filled, fast-paced family event at the new Long Center for the Performing Arts. The 2008 Family Music Festival, April 29 – May 1, will be a three-night musical celebration presenting the Austin Symphony and the biggest names in children’s entertainment: Joe McDermott (with special guest appearance by Joe Scruggs), Trout Fishing in America and The Biscuit Brothers.

It will soon be time for those bluebonnet photos, and one of the best places to take them is at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, in Austin TX during the 2008 Wildflower DaysTM. Between March 10 and April 30, the center is open every day, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Look for meadows and gardens abloom with Indian paintbrush, winecups, evening primroses, giant spiderworts, Blackfoot daisies and Drummond phlox as well as the Texas state flower.
