Details Emerge In Lakewood Police Shooting

Details have begun to emerge in the Lakewood police shooting that took place earlier today at 8:15 AM on Sunday morning. Four police officers, three men and a woman, were "ambushed" at a coffee shop in Lakewood, which is in Washington state, 40 miles south of Seattle and 10 miles southwest of Tacoma.

A gunman at the Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains, New York high school has taken the principal hostage. The high school in upstate New York is currently on lock down and current reports indicate that students are safe. The school is about 90 miles north of New York City.

Bay bridge truck accident claims life

The driver of a big-rig went out of control and plunged over the side of the Bay Bridge early Monday morning. The driver of the truck that was involved in the accident and was employed by a company in San Ramon, lost his life as helost control on the Bay Bridge's S-curve and went over a traffic barrier. The truck plummeted about 200 feet to Yerba Buena Island below.

SEPTA strike ends with overnight agreement

The six-day strike by operators, mechanics, and maintenance staff of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) ended as it began: in the middle of the night. A tentative agreement reached shortly after midnight Monday brought SEPTA personnel back to work in time for the Monday morning commute to work.
